Something just happened recently where I was amazed again at the healing
potential of the oils. 

We are building a room addition onto our home and my husband was 
putting up insulation in the walls with his air staple gun.  He stapled his 
index finger.  The staple went in at the base of the nail on the side and 
went completely through his finger and came out on the other side.  It just 
missed the bone.  We got a pair of pliers and I grabbed the bottle of 
Lavender and poured it over his finger making sure I got both sides of the
staple also.  We pulled the staple out with the pliers and since the staple 
had lavender on it, as it came out, the lavender went thru his finger also. 
We kept putting Lavender on his finger several times throughout the day.  
The next day, he had no swelling, he had no soreness and the finger 
healed almost immediately. 

Generally, with a puncture wound like that there is a danger of
infection, but I believe that since we were able to get the Lavender
inside as the staple was pulled out, he healed much faster.
